Description
I'm actually a little nervous about submitting this! But it's something that I've been wanting to do for a while, so here it goes! Mostly I'm worried that I've gotten some cultural information wrong, and if I have, whoops! If you see anything amiss, let me know and I'll see what I can do about fixing it up!
This is a sort of "location bio", all the congregated info that I wanted to put down about Minoru's brothel. It's a location that's very important to him as a character and to his story, so I thought I should put it all together. After a few people seemed interested in making characters who live and work there [Eeeee! How exciting, I'm so honored!], I thought that I should finally do it!

• Musume [娘 "Daughter" or "Young Woman"] is a brothel located in Gale Spring. Already several hundred years old, it is a building steeped in elegance and tradition, much like all the area surrounding it.
• Once a small town, the district where Musume is settled became incorporated into the larger Gale Spring village after the Kami War several years ago. The villagers escaping from the ruins of Sky Village, Crystal Lake, and Ice Bay used the town as a base for settling down, and eventually used the town as a place to build out from, forming the larger village of Gale Spring that exists today. As a town that existed on its own for several hundred years, filled to the brim with elegant restaurants, traditional crafts, arts, theaters, geisha, and every other sort of entertainment, it quickly became one of Gale Springs most sophisticated and artistic districts.
• Despite the recent dramatic changes to the population and area, Musume and the streets around it remain largely unchanged, operating much as they have for the last several hundred years.
• Minoru is the current owner of Musume, and has held that position for a little over 200 years. Previously, he was its highest ranking courtesan before inheriting the building and business from the former owner, his own okaasan.
• Musume itself is a combination/mix of a real world Okiya and Ochaya — that is to say, the men and women who work at Musume both live (the 'okiya') and work (the 'ochaya' or 'ageya') in-house, and the building has facilities both for entertaining and private use. However, the oiran working there are by no means restricted to working in-house at all times, and will often accompany clients to the many stunning sites around the area, including other teahouses, theaters, etc.
• Since its workers (aside from household staff) are all oiran in their own right, as a business it is very exclusive (not to mention pricy). Though most workers, aside from those of the highest rank, cannot specifically pick and choose or deny clients, any client showing excessively violent behavior, poor manners, or who are in any other way complained about may be escorted off the premises (if not banned outright from returning). Most repeat, respected clients are either particularly wealthy or outright nobility.
• Daytime hours are typically slow, where clothes are mended, sleep is caught up on, and the house and gardens are cleaned and maintained. Evening and night hours are busy, and working hours can extend up into the very smallest hours of the morning.
• In fact, Minoru has made it a century's-long habit of ensuring that Musume maintains a reputation for being not only a top-tier establishment, but also as a brothel whose workers are treated with the utmost dignity and respect. Throughout the years, many of Musume's workers have either been rescued from poor or abusive situations elsewhere, either personally by Minoru or through their own efforts. Many others have been born there, working the trade of their mothers, or given over to the house as mere children, thereby tightening the feeling of family among the workers. Once any worker's contract and obligations to the house are fulfilled, they are free to leave as they see fit—some leave, starting new lives of their own; most stay, continuing to work or, if not, at least mentor future generations.
• At any given time, Musume is usually home to about 15-18 workers and staff, including active oiran, inactive young oiran-in-training, and house staff (excluding Minoru himself).
